Ty's Take

A warrant out on a man from down in Española brings the usual reminder that trouble doesn't respect county lines, but the real news today is the work happening on the Rudy Cruz House. That kind of restoration matters around here because these old places are the spine of who we are, tied to the land grants and the families who built this country piece by piece over centuries. The grant money means somebody upstream understands that letting these houses fall is like letting the memory fall, and that's worth paying attention to. You can chase headlines about warrants all day, but the ones that stick with you in a place like this are the ones about keeping what matters standing.
