Ty's Take

A 227-ton rotor rolling up the hill this weekend is exactly the kind of thing that makes Los Alamos what it is: the Lab gets what it needs, traffic backs up on Trinity Drive, and everybody figures it out because the work matters more than a Saturday afternoon. You can complain about the delays, and fair enough, but there's something to be said for living in a place where you're actually watching pieces of the future move through town on a flatbed truck. The water letter this week hits harder though. Somebody's finally saying out loud what the engineers and hydrologists already know: this region's got a reckoning coming, and it's going to take real leadership to navigate it, not just good intentions and hope. The rotor will get where it's going. The water question? That one stays with us.
