Ty's Take
There's something worth noting in how a town this size marks itself. We've got food service workers getting state recognition, three neighbors named Living Treasures, nine kids making National Merit semifinalists, and a man named George Fischer Morse who lived nearly eighty years on the plateau. On the same day, the League of Women Voters is reminding us that elections matter and a pumpkin patch is opening for families. This is what small communities actually do: they recognize the people who show up, feed the kids, raise the next generation, and tend to civics one forum at a time. It's easy to overlook because it doesn't make noise, but it's what holds a place together, especially one built on as much expertise and ambition as Los Alamos. The hard part is remembering that while we're watching the big things, it's this smaller work that becomes the real story.
