Ty's Take

September's hitting the ground running up here, and there's something worth noticing in the mix of what's happening on the hill. We've got ScienceFest kicking off, the literary festival coming in October, PEEC getting kids back out into the mountains, and the usual sweep of community events that keep a town like this humming between fire seasons and lab shifts. But there's also that letter about the comprehensive plan, the one flagging a disconnect between what people actually want and what's getting written down in the official documents. That tension matters. In a place where the Lab employs half the county and shapes everything from housing pressure to traffic patterns, the folks who live here deserve to know their voice is making it into the long-term decisions about their own community. A town full of people trained to ask hard questions deserves planning that actually listens.
