Ty's Take
Scholarship season is here again, which tells you something about Los Alamos that outsiders don't always get. In a town built on brains and built around the Lab, we've got foundations and nonprofits and civic groups that take it personally when young people need help getting to college. FLACL, the library foundation, the county extension office, the Jewish Center, the League of Women Voters, the schools themselves, they're all doing the work of keeping pathways open for the next generation. That's not something you see everywhere, and it matters more in a place like this where housing costs keep climbing and young families are getting pushed further down the hill toward Española. Good to see it still happening.
