Ty's Take
The Frijoles Fire sits at 77 percent containment with monsoon moisture moving in, which on the Pajarito Plateau means we're holding our breath and watching the sky like we always do come September. People here have long memories of Cerro Grande and Las Conchas, and that's not paranoia, that's just how you live when your town sits where ours does. Meanwhile the rest of the week looks like what passes for normal around here: theater and community events, talk about the new comprehensive plan that's got people fired up about housing and open space, and another push to get electric vehicles up the hill. Fire season always concentrates the mind, though. Everything else can wait.
