Ty's Take
Drowning at a campground and loitering complaints in a parking lot might sound like two separate headaches, but they're really the same conversation this town needs to have about what happens when nobody's watching. We've got good people here and we've got spaces that matter, from the trout parks to the parking areas where folks gather between shifts at the plants. When something goes wrong, it tends to go wrong where there's nobody around. The sheriff's office and police department are doing what they do, which is show up after the fact. The harder work is the stuff nobody makes headlines about: the neighbors who notice things, the business owners who care enough to call it in, the community that stays alert. Lebanon's built on the kind of place where people look out for each other. That instinct matters more than any parking lot patrol.
