Ty's Take

Two longtime Las Cruceans are gone this week, and if you've lived here long enough you probably crossed paths with at least one of them. Janice Brown made it to 82, David Reyes to 62, which tells you something about the luck of the draw and the importance of knowing your neighbors while you can. The Bulletin runs these notices every week, easy to pass over if you're just scanning for city council news, but anybody who's been in this valley for a spell knows these aren't just names. They're the people who were here before the sprawl, who watched I-10 change everything, who remember when you knew half the town. That's worth stopping for.
