Ty's Take
Carol Ann Knapp Foreman was the kind of woman who showed up, and in a town like Las Cruces, where the Mesilla Valley keeps turning over and newer folks keep arriving, that matters more than you'd think. The death notices today remind us that community isn't built in a day or even a generation, it's built by people who stick around and do the work, who know their neighbors' names and show up for church or the school board or just the everyday business of keeping a place together. Gadsden ISD's new campus leaders are stepping into that same tradition now, inheriting schools that run on the shoulders of teachers and administrators and yes, people like the ones we're saying goodbye to this week. That's the real continuity of a place.
