The Reveille masthead - Linn Creek Reveille, 1881-1882

Ty's Take

A head-on collision near Buffalo took a life this week, and accidents in Camden County left another person seriously hurt, the kind of reminders that come through every few months around here about what happens when a split second of attention or judgment goes sideways on these roads. Meantime, we're dealing with darker stuff closer to home: a Macks Creek coach and substitute teacher facing distribution charges that sicken you to think about, and Manygoats resolving his case through guilty pleas rather than trial. The Linn Creek developer pulled back on annexation plans, at least for now, which might mean somebody cooled off or somebody saw the numbers clearer in daylight. Not much good news this cycle, which is how some weeks go in a place where the same roads that bring tourists through in the summer also carry locals to work, to school, to everyday life where everything changes in an instant.
