Ty's Take

Two riders, two very different outcomes this week on the roads around here. One airlifted out after hitting a deer on his motorcycle, the other from Eldon didn't make it at all after a crash in Callaway County. Fall's got a way of making drivers complacent on these winding lake roads, the leaves are pretty, the weather's finally decent again, and then something moves into the road that shouldn't be there. We've all swerved or hit the brakes hard at least once out here. The difference between a story that ends at the hospital and one that ends at the funeral home is sometimes just luck, but mostly it's speed and attention. Slow down where the deer live.
