Ty's Take
There's no easy way through a drowning death, and the body camera footage released this week doesn't change that. A toddler is gone. Parents are grieving. Now lawyers are talking, investigations are ongoing, and the rest of us are watching the machinery of liability and blame grind forward, which is what happens when tragedy meets property and lawyers get involved. What strikes you about these waters this season isn't the luxury developments or the fishing records or the fall festivals, though those are real too. It's that we've got to keep talking about water safety the same way we talk about hunting seasons and boat inspections, because one conversation might reach one parent who needed to hear it. The legal battle will sort itself out. The community doesn't have that luxury.
