Ty's Take

A woman from Eldon lost her life on Highway 63 this week, and the details are still coming in, but there's not much that needs explaining when a motorcycle meets pavement at speed. These accidents happen too often in Callaway County, usually when the weather turns nice and riders are thinking about anything but the next curve. Meanwhile, down at the lake, the Women's Big Bass Bash keeps drawing competitors who know these waters better than most men do, and it's worth noting that the tournament circuit has shifted enough that skill with a rod matters more than who's holding it. Hard to find much comfort in that contrast, but it's the week we're in.
