Ty's Take
City Hall's looking to buy land for a new police department and municipal building, which sounds like the kind of infrastructure move that gets rubber-stamped and forgotten about. But anyone who's watched government meetings around here knows that property deals in a tourism town tend to get complicated fast, especially when you're talking about real estate in a place where every waterfront inch has somebody's hand on it. Meanwhile, a stolen vehicle turned into a bomb threat down in Miller County reminds us that even quiet afternoons can go sideways in a hurry. The fall festival season's ramping up, road safety numbers are what they are, and life keeps moving. Seems like the city's at least thinking ahead instead of reacting, which is more than we can say some years.
