Ty's Take

Fire took down the McDonald's in Lebanon yesterday, and if you've driven that stretch of Highway 5 in the last couple decades, you know exactly which one. Not much else out there but that building and some open country, which probably helped keep the thing from spreading to anything else, but it also meant the crew had to work in pretty open conditions to get it knocked down. Lebanon's got a volunteer department that knows their business, and word is everybody got out safe. Still, that's a landmark gone now, one of those places people used directions off of, and a handful of jobs that'll need sorting out. These little towns lose a business like that and you feel it quieter than you'd expect.
