Another motorcycle came apart on these roads this week, and like the last time and the time before, somebody's family got the call nobody wants to answer. You can talk all you want about helmet laws and speed limits, but the truth is we've got curves out here that don't forgive mistakes, and we've got enough visitors who don't know them combined with enough locals who think they do. Meanwhile, up in Jefferson City, somebody's drawing new lines on a map and asking folks which congressional district they belong in, which is the kind of thing that happens when politicians get bored. One problem we can actually do something about. The other one takes a funeral and a hard conversation before it sticks.
