Ty's Take

Small towns sometimes have to make their own way, and Camdenton just decided that includes running its own airport. The tie-breaking vote by the mayor signals something bigger than runway maintenance and fuel contracts, it signals a community willing to take control of its own future instead of waiting for somebody else to manage it. That's the kind of independence that built these lake towns in the first place, though it also means the city's taking on the risk and the headaches that come with it. Worth watching how it shakes out, because other municipalities around here are probably paying close attention to whether Camdenton's bet on itself pays off.
