Ty's Take

We've got a lot of moving parts this week around the lake, from the airport getting serious about its future to housing pushing forward in Lake Ozark, and that's good steady news for a place trying to grow without losing itself. But what caught me this morning was seeing the Hero salute scheduled alongside the MADD checkpoint in Sunrise Beach, which is exactly the conversation we need to be having in September. You can honor sacrifice and still acknowledge that the roads around here need watching, especially as we head into fall when the weekenders thin out and folks get careless. The MDC closing Tuscumbia access is the kind of practical cut nobody likes but everybody understands, and at least they're telling us upfront instead of letting people show up and wonder why the gate's locked.
