Ty's Take

Dolly Parton's passing hits different when you've spent enough years in small towns to know that some people belong to everybody. She wasn't ours in the geographic sense, but she was ours the way the best artists are, making music that played just as true in a lake cabin as anywhere else. Meanwhile, down here we're building something new at the Oasis, watching custom boats turn heads at the Shootout, and keeping the lake running the way it always has. Life moves forward that way, with the old and new happening side by side. We'll miss her.
