Two teenagers tore through the Brumley area on an ATV and ended up in serious condition, which means somebody's family is sitting in a hospital waiting room right now trying to make sense of how a Saturday ride turned into something that changes everything. We see it happen out here with regularity, usually to kids who know better or think they do, and the pattern never changes: speed, terrain that doesn't forgive mistakes, and a split second where things go sideways. The lake country draws people who love their toys and their freedom, and most folks who own ATVs are responsible about it, but there's always that margin where young riders figure the rules apply to somebody else. Two Teens Seriously Hurt in ATV Accident in Brumley Area
A 13-year-old girl from Brumley lost control of an ATV around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, seriously injuring herself and a teenage passenger. The Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the accident in the Brumley area, where both teens were taken for medical treatment.
