There's a lot happening around the lake today, so maybe the best place to start is the simplest one: make sure your place is buttoned up before tonight's weather rolls in. Severe storms coming through this afternoon, and while we've been lucky more times than not around here, it only takes one bad one to turn a small leak into a flooded basement or a loose gutter into real trouble. The DNR gave us another all-clear on the water yesterday, so if you were thinking about getting out on the lake this week, the conditions are right, just not for today. Check your boats, check your roofs, and if you're heading anywhere in a car, take it easy on the curves. A couple folks learned that lesson the hard way already this week when a deer put them in the ditch.
