That jet ski came in hot at the docks, somebody fell asleep getting a facial and woke up glowing, and a woman got hurt out on the Osage River while her driver took off running. Meanwhile Highway 54 is still a parking lot through Camdenton, a former deputy is heading to prison on charges that'll make your stomach turn, and traffic backed up again this morning when a car caught fire near the lake. It's summer around here, which means the boat ramps are crowded, the tourists are spending money, and the roads can't handle it all. The Duck Drop's coming back this weekend with prize money, which at least gives folks something to smile about in between the chaos and the bad news. This place runs on weekends and tourists like we run on coffee, but these last few days are a reminder that all that activity comes with a cost.
