Ty's Take

Summer around the lake always brings the same tug-of-war—more tourists, more traffic, more small accidents that remind us how fast things move when the season kicks in. Between the motorcycle fatality, the Highway 54 pileup, and what sounds like it was a rough shift for Camden County emergency services this week, it's worth remembering that Fourth of July weekend isn't just about the fireworks and the new roller coaster at Oasis. It's about slowing down enough to get home safe, letting the other guy turn left, and maybe taking the scenic route instead of racing the clock. The FreedomFest got pushed to the eleventh anyway, so there's no hurry.
