Ty's Take
Anybody who's been around the lake long enough knows that summer here moves fast—one minute you're pulling the boat out for Memorial Day, the next you're calling the funeral home because somebody's kid didn't make it home. We've got a seven-year-old gone in a UTV accident, a mother still missing after two teenagers drowned on Springfield, and a 120-mile-per-hour crash that felt like forever to the driver who lived to tell about it. The weather service is calling for severe tonight, which means the water's going to get meaner before it gets better. This isn't new news around here, but it lands different when you're sitting at the dock fixing your same old boat and thinking about somebody else's empty chair at the dinner table.
