Ty's Take
There's not much gentle about what shows up in a county paper some weeks—a child abuse indictment, a DWI, an arrest in Plato, a couple of folks hurt when a deer stepped into the road at the wrong moment. But then you flip past that section and there's Opal Marie Keeter's obituary, and the Junior Livestock Sale photos, and a story about thirty million dollars coming to fix our roads, and you remember that this is how small towns actually work: the hard and the hopeful running alongside each other, week after week, and people showing up anyway. The kids still bring their calves and heifers to the fair. MoDOT still pours concrete. We still bury our dead and tend to our business. That's the real story.
