Ty's Take
The Bulletin ran two pieces this week that, taken together, tell you something about what holds a valley together when everything else is changing. One marks the passing of Michelle Renee Sanders, a name that meant something to people around here. The other talks about the places and events that still bring folks through the same doors, the same festivals, the same community spaces where you see the same faces year after year. That's not accident. It's the work of people like Sanders, the kind of person a small town doesn't always know how to measure while they're still here, but feels the absence of once they're gone. Chile season coming up means the valley will be busy, trucks moving, harvest work starting, and for a few weeks everybody's got their eyes on the same thing. Those moments matter. So do the people who spent their time making sure the other moments, the quieter ones, still held us together.
