Ty's Take
Two more names in the paper this week, and if you've lived in the valley long enough you probably knew one of them or knew somebody who did. Janice Brown made it to 82, David Reyes to 62, and that gap right there tells you something about how things go, how the luck breaks different for different people. These obits don't say much beyond the years and the names, but in a county where everybody's connected through work or church or the chile harvest or just running into each other at the roaster on a Saturday afternoon, losing people stacks up. The Hatch Valley's not getting any bigger, and some weeks it feels smaller than the last.
