Ty's Take

We lost a few good ones this week—Carol Ann, Clare, Shannyn, and Timothy—and the valley feels a little smaller when the names start stacking up like that. But what strikes me reading through the notices is how many of these folks spent their whole lives here, roots deep as the chile plants that line our fields, and how many left behind kids and grandkids still working this same dirt. Meanwhile the younger generation's out there making plushies and prints, finding their own way to build something, and maybe that's what matters most—that the work keeps changing shape but the people keep showing up. Summer's moving fast. Make time to check in on your neighbors.
