Eight years is a long time to wait for answers, but not so long that folks around here have forgotten what happened to Tory Sanders or the questions that hung over this county like fog on the Current. Three people facing murder charges now means somebody finally talked, or the evidence finally lined up in a way a prosecutor could take to court, and either way it's the kind of closure that doesn't really feel like closure once you've lived with the uncertainty this long. Shannon County law enforcement has had its credibility tested before, and this case has been part of that test, so how the state handles these charges and what comes next in the courtroom will matter more than most people want to admit. The river country has long memory, and this one's been carved deeper than most.
