Eight years is a long time to wait for answers, but around here we've learned patience comes with the territory when it comes to serious crimes. The arrest warrants finally issued in the Tory Sanders case represent something this county needed, whether folks believe justice will actually land or not. You can drive these roads and still see the weight of that investigation hanging on people, the way it changed how we talk about law enforcement and what we expect from the folks wearing the badge. Three people charged now, all these years later, means somebody finally decided the case was ready to move forward, and that's worth noting even if it stirs up everything we'd rather leave settled.
