Ty's Take
Eight years is a long time to wait for answers in a murder case, but Shannon County folks know by now that justice in this county moves on its own schedule—and sometimes not without a cost to the people wearing the badge. Three arrests in the Tory Sanders death and charges against the law enforcement officers who handled that investigation speak to something this community has been living with since 2018: the understanding that what happened that night wasn't just a tragedy, it was a failure, and somebody had to answer for it eventually. The cold cases don't close themselves, and neither do the questions about who knew what. Whatever comes next in court, the river country already knows the price of not getting it right the first time.
