Ty's Take
New Mexico marking a year of free state park passes for veterans is the kind of quiet policy that actually matters out here, where folks who served deserve more than a thank-you and a handshake. A veteran with a pass can load up the family and head out to Rockhound State Park or City of Rocks without wondering if the entry fee is worth it, and that changes something small but real in how a person feels about coming home. It's not flashy work, not the kind of thing that moves ratings, but it's the work that builds a state worth living in.
