Ty's Take
A year into New Mexico's state park pass program for veterans, you'd think we'd have clearer numbers on how many folks are actually using it, but that's not how these things always work out at the state level. The idea itself is solid, especially out here where a lot of families have military ties and the outdoors is one of the few free entertainments that don't require a drive to El Paso. Meanwhile, Congress is still chewing on permanent daylight saving time like it's some kind of miracle fix for how we organize our days, which tells you something about how little real problems get solved these days. Life's too short to spend it arguing about clocks, which Sam Neill probably figured out before the rest of us, the man passing at 78 this week.
