Ty's Take

Late summer in Luna County means two things: getting the kids ready and crossing fingers that the money holds out. This year at least, the vaccine clinics are free, which takes one worry off the table for families already sweating tuition and supplies. The State Fair's got entertainment lined up too, which means there's still something to look forward to after the heat breaks and folks have a chance to breathe. Small towns run on these rhythms, on the little reliefs built into the calendar. Right now, with school coming and fair season turning the corner, that's what matters most around here.
