Ty's Take

Rocky came out of nowhere to knock off a ranked team Saturday, and you can feel that kind of win ripple through a college town for weeks. The volleyball team got their first conference victory too, which means the fall sports season is hitting its stride right when folks around here need something to get behind. Kevin Iffland's coming through town tomorrow night for a public meet and greet, and that's the kind of thing that reminds you Billings punches above its weight as a regional hub. Between the football field and the court and the chance to shake hands with someone worth showing up for, this is what autumn in a town like ours is supposed to feel like. We're also saying goodbye to neighbors we've known our whole lives, the way September always does, and that matters too.
