Ty's Take
The city's decision to lower costs on streetlights is the kind of unglamorous work that doesn't make anybody's highlight reel, but it's exactly the kind of thing that keeps a place running when money gets tight. Billings has always been a town that takes care of its basics first, and keeping the streets lit without bleeding the budget dry is part of that ethic. Meanwhile, our kids are out competing at Rocky, doing what young athletes do, and somewhere today people we knew are being remembered in these pages. It's a quiet news day, the kind September dishes up sometimes, but quiet doesn't mean nothing's happening. It means the real work is getting done.
