The data center fight keeps getting messier—first Missoula pumps the brakes with a moratorium, then Quantica throws its weight behind a county lawsuit that's got people fired up. Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying to figure out what this boom actually means for eastern Montana: cheaper power infrastructure, or another industry that extracts what it needs and moves on. The smart money says Billings leadership needs to get ahead of this before the battle lines harden any further, because right now everybody's arguing about what we want without actually knowing what we're choosing.
