Ty's Take

Bowling's been slow at the alley on Main since the kids got smartphones, but somebody's figured out the fix: knock over a stuffed moose and you've got their attention. Good luck to whoever's running that promotion, though around here we've always had better luck getting young people interested in something with four legs and a heartbeat than something made of plush. Speaking of which, the Montana Stockgrowers Association heading down to Billings for their annual convention this week reminds you that the real business of the valley happens when producers get in a room and start talking policy, feed prices, and what the next session in Helena's going to mean for grazing permits and water rights. That's the show that matters. The moose can wait.
