Ty's Take

Not much to go on with a single headline about the Sweet Grass Royals, but that's the name of the county's scholarship pageant, and if the Pioneer's got it in the paper this week then somebody just won the crown or the judges made their pick. Around here those girls represent the county at the state fair come August, and it matters more than people from town might think. A ranching community puts stock in who carries the banner, whether you want to admit it or not. Could be a local kid, could be someone's daughter heading off to college next fall, could be the story of how she's using the platform. Without seeing what the Pioneer actually ran, you're hoping they did right by whoever it is and told us why she mattered beyond the tiara.
