Fire season's here already, and the Schrader Creek burn near Del Norte is a reminder that these high valleys don't get much of a grace period once the weather turns dry. What's worth watching is whether South Fork and the rest of the valley have the resources lined up when the real heat hits, because water pressure gets thin fast when you're pumping for both firefighting and irrigation rights on the Conejos. That data center conversation they're having over in South Fork might seem like separate business, but in a place where every drop counts, everything ties together.
