The Rio Grande National Forest is coming to Del Norte next month to talk winter recreation, which means somebody up the valley chain finally figured out that what happens on that high ground affects water, access, and how the rest of us use the land come January. Meanwhile, that fence dispute over in La Sierra just got a wildlife study attached to it, which is how these things always go around here, turns out the land you thought was yours gets complicated the minute you ask a biologist to have a look. Both stories are about the same thing really: living in a place where every decision has somebody on the other side of it, and the mountains don't care which side you're on.
