One traffic stop on the highway between here and the New Mexico line turned into the kind of bust that reminds you the drug trade doesn't care much about county lines or how small your town is. Sheriff's office pulled over a vehicle, found distribution-level quantities, and now there's a case working through the system that probably involved more than one jurisdiction—the way these things usually do down here. It's the kind of thing that happens quiet enough that most folks don't hear about it until the paperwork's done, but it matters more than we sometimes admit when we're talking about keeping the valley safe.
