Ty's Take

Most days the valley's news reads like a snapshot of who we are: somebody's making a case about water and growth, the Grizzlies are playing their hearts out on whatever field will have them, and somebody else is pulling off something creative that reminds you why people stick around a place this high and this far from anywhere. Today's no different. What strikes you, though, is that these aren't separate things. The person voting yes on Prop 137 is probably sitting in the bleachers at Adams State on Saturday. The artists putting on The Firebird are the same folks who care how this valley uses what little water it's got. In a town our size, everything connects, and most mornings you can see it if you're paying attention.
