Nobody likes talking about taxes, but the street tax question coming up in November is one of those things that gets harder to ignore the longer you wait. Potholes don't fix themselves, and the roads around Alamosa that funnel people to the university, to the Sand Dunes, to the ranches out past the valley rim, they've been wearing thin for a while now. There's no magic money here. The question is whether we fund it or watch it get worse. Sometimes the clearest choice is the one that costs something.
