Ty's Take

The fact that we've got a 5K fun run scheduled right alongside a xeriscaping workshop says something true about living at 7,500 feet in a high desert. We're a people who move, who show up, who care about our fitness and our community. But we're also a people who know water doesn't grow on trees around here, and every blade of grass in your yard is a conversation with the Rio Grande. Both events matter in their own way. One gets the blood moving on a Saturday morning, the other teaches you how to live smarter with what little moisture the San Luis Valley actually gives us. Skip neither one if you can help it.
