Ty's Take
The county commissioners putting a DA term-limit measure on the November ballot tells you something about how they're feeling in the courthouse these days, and it's worth watching close—these aren't decisions made lightly in a place where everybody knows everybody else's business. Meanwhile, out in the high country, the gray wolves are back to reminding us that the San Luis Valley isn't ours alone, and that's a conversation we're still learning how to have. Between the track kids heading up to the state championships and the spring weather finally breaking right for the high desert, there's a sense of things moving again after a long winter. It's the kind of week where you can feel the pulse of a small county—the politics, the land, the young people pushing forward.
