Ty's Take

Water's always been the argument that matters most in this valley—older than statehood, older than the dams, older than most of us standing here—and it's good to see Adams State finally making conservation part of the conversation instead of an afterthought. Meanwhile, the county's wrestling with whether to let the DA stay put beyond term limits, immigration policy's getting aired out in town halls, and somebody's got to ask whether we're solving problems or just shuffling the chairs around. The band's playing this weekend, Cinco de Mayo's coming, and life goes on in Alamosa the way it always does: with water on everybody's mind and stronger opinions about it than most people have about anything else.
