Ty's Take

The Sheriff's Department had a month worth talking about, and not just because of the 2.3 million in narcotics they pulled off the streets. That kind of seizure doesn't happen by accident, and it doesn't happen without work. What caught my eye was the timing, though, coming right as we head into October and the county's push on domestic violence awareness. Two different fights, sure, but they're not really separate out here. Drugs and abuse run alongside each other more often than we'd like to admit, and a department that's serious about one has to be serious about both. Meanwhile, the kids are out playing their sports, doing the thing that keeps them moving forward. That's the whole story, isn't it. The work that keeps a county standing up.
