Ty's Take

The fair's back in full swing, which means Alamogordo's doing what it does best, and the city commission's doing what it does too. When a municipal body declines to review allegations against one of its own, you can read that a couple of ways, but most folks around here know the difference between closing a file and closing a case. Meanwhile, Stan Ford's been out there capturing some genuine American moments across decades, from the Kennedy era straight through to his lens on New Mexico, and that kind of archive doesn't come from sitting still. The 5K for breast cancer awareness shows up every year because the work matters, and it matters locally. Some days the news reads like the town running on all its usual tracks at once.
