High school sports in a county this size mean something different than they do in places with twenty schools to draw from. The fact that it wasn't the runaway everybody figured tells you something worth knowing about both programs and the kids playing for them. Around here, we don't have the luxury of coasting through district play, and apparently nobody got the memo that they were supposed to.
